Michael Knopf and Kate McDowell Murphy merged their legal practices in 2014 to form KM Law. They are passionate about helping clients from all walks of life find cost effective and practical solutions to their legal problems.

Michael has over 20 years of experience as a lawyer. He is an Accredited Specialist in Family Law and has an extensive knowledge of many areas of law, including family law, elder law and criminal law. He appears regularly in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, Magistrates' Court and VCAT.

Kate grew up in Korumburra and moved to Melbourne to undertake her studies at The University of Melbourne. She has worked as a lawyer for over 20 years. Kate has extensive experience in many areas of law, including wills and estates, conveyancing and property law, family law, and litigation.
